Chrvns and Rhetorician visit with local filmmaker and music video director Julien Scherliss. They discuss Julien's early roots filming cooking shows with his cousin when they were kids, his move to Bellingham by way of Hollywood, and his approach to art and filmmaking.

Julien is a Director and Cinematographer with a passion for storytelling through film. Born in Boulder, Colorado, where his father owned a video store, his interest in filmmaking developed at a young age. As a child, he and his sister would search through old films for hidden gems. By 12, he started a small cooking show, made his first feature film at 15, and got his first job at a television studio by 19. At 21, a turn of events led him to move north, eventually settling in Bellingham, Washington. Julien has worked on a variety of projects, including Ski films, Music videos, commercials, and feature films. He believes in the power of film to bring people together and share meaningful stories.
