Pete Ruble

Pete Ruble joins hosts CHRVNS and Tim Mechling to talk about Bob Dylan’s influence on his songwriting, his return to music after a hiatus due to nerve damage, and the nuances of digital vs. analog recording. He also shares his philosophy on harmonica playing before performing “Talkin’ Snow Drift Blues,” a song inspired by his habit of running his truck off the road in icy conditions—a regular hazard in his work as a painter.

Pete Ruble was born in the Arizona desert and wound up in Lynden, WA as a child. Although the twangy, folksy leanings of his musical style might indicate him being from the vast countryside outside of that town, he actually grew up very much inside the city limits. He now lives in Bellingham and paints houses when he's not playing music.
